The Journal of Multidisciplinary Engineering Technologies (JMDET) aims to ensure that high ethical standards of publication practice, academic integrity, research accountability, and editorial conduct are maintained. This involves following ethical considerations in all phases from submission through to peer review, editorial decision making, and publication of the manuscript.

Authors, reviewers, and editors share responsibility for maintaining the integrity and credibility of the scholarly publishing process.

Responsibilities of Authors

Authors should:

  • Submit original and previously unpublished research.
  • Do not resubmit research that is currently being reviewed or considered elsewhere.
  • Report research methods, data, results, and conclusions objectively and truthfully.
  • Properly cite all sources used.
  • Do not commit plagiarism, multiple submission, and self-plagiarism.
  • Use proper copyright permissions if necessary.
  • Make sure that all authors are deserving of authorship and approve of the final submission.
  • Disclosure of conflicts of interest.
  • Acknowledgment of the source of research funds.
  • Adherence to research and publication ethics guidelines.
  • Reporting of errors in published work.

Responsibilities of Reviewers

Reviewers are expected to:

  • Conduct impartial, objective, and independent reviews.
  • Confidentiality of submitted papers is to be maintained.
  • Offer constructive, clear, and professional comments.
  • Evaluate papers on the basis of their academic and technical content.
  • Do not use personal or discriminatory assessments.
  • Reveal any conflict of interests.
  • Reviews are to be done within the stipulated time period, wherever feasible.
  • Report plagiarism or research misconduct to the Editor.

Editors are responsible for:

  • Fair and unbiased editorial decision making.
  • Confidentiality of submitted papers.
  • Selection of appropriate and qualified reviewers.
  • Ensuring proper editorial independence.
  • Handling conflicts of interest appropriately.
  • Taking ethical issues seriously.
  • Preserving the integrity of the scholarly publication record.
  • Fostering fairness and academic excellence.

The decisions made by editors regarding the submitted manuscripts should be based mainly on the academic value, originality, relevance, methodology, and significance of the papers and not on any irrelevant factors.

Academic Integrity & Research Misconduct

The JMDET remains firm in its stand against any unethical practices in research and publications. The manuscript should be characterized by innovation, precision, honesty, and scientific integrity.

Editorial Action in Cases of Misconduct

In case of any indication of unethical practice or misconduct in research, JMDET will initiate relevant editorial action. Depending upon the situation, it can range from seeking clarification/correction to rejection of manuscript, issuing correction/clarification, or even retraction of the published paper if required.

The JMDET is dedicated to maintaining the integrity of the academic record through fostering good research practices and ethical publishing throughout the whole process of publication.
