Abstract

Significant stresses and progressive deformation in civil engineering and fracture mechanics structures may result from the development of dynamic loads brought on by heavy vehicle traffic and seismic disturbances in bridge construction areas. Investigating the impact of different factors related to moving loads acting on rock media sitting over a water medium is therefore crucial. The practical importance of the current study is established by the observation of huge rock formations atop water-supported foundations in various oceanic zones. In this work, the framework of geophysical fracture mechanics has been used to analyze the stress produced by a moving load acting on a fiber-reinforced rock medium. Examining the stresses caused by a normal moving load acting on the free surface of an uneven fiber-reinforced rock layer sitting on a water medium is the study’s primary goal. Three distinct kinds of surface imperfections have been examined and visually explained. Additionally, pictorial representations have been used to highlight a number of significant physical traits linked to stress behavior.
